Trio Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Award

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
