Tom Clancy's The Division Is Coming to the Tabletop as a Deeply Strategic TTRPG

The gritty world of Tom Clancy’s The Division is being adapted into a tabletop role-playing experience. A partnership was established to create a TTRPG that explores the series' post-pandemic setting. The project was revealed, with a crowdfunding campaign planned to begin in the spring of 2026.

"This project aims to deliver the series' unique suspense, tactical intensity, and iconic world-building to the tabletop, offering fans a new way to experience The Division through deep narrative and player-driven missions," reads an announcement.

Launch products will include a starter set, essential manuals, a GM screen, miniatures, and various deluxe editions.

Exploring The Division's Apocalyptic World

In this universe, a lethal pathogen known as Green Poison was unleashed in New York City, sending the United States into turmoil. As the pandemic escalates, society crumbles and violent factions emerge, transforming the city into a warzone. To restore law and order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a secret cell of undercover operatives. That’s where the players enter the story.

Development on the RPG has been in progress for about three years, and it is confirmed to be complete. The forthcoming Kickstarter campaign will serve as a pre-launch sales platform to access a wider market, specifically in the United States. Production is slated to begin immediately following the campaign, with shipping projected for the latter part of 2026.

A Streamlined Gameplay Mechanic: The GRIS System

An early look at the game's rules reveals it uses 10-sided dice exclusively through its proprietary GRIS system, promoting a fast-paced and strategic approach. Players leverage skills or traits to roll a handful of dice, usually between one and five d10s.

  • Instead of adding results together, players select a single “result die” from the pool.
  • This die is then compared against a set challenge number.
  • Achieving a perfect 10 grants special effects, such as increased harm or boosted support.

Combat Focus On Positioning and Situational Insight

Fights prioritize placement and situational awareness, mirroring the source material. Elements like taking cover, height advantage, or visibility directly influence success chances. This system seems built to favor coordination and clever tactics instead of raw numbers.

A Novel Wound System

The way health is managed adds a compelling thematic twist. Operatives have a wound threshold; taking heavy hits reduces their effectiveness by decreasing the number of d10s.

  1. At zero health, an operative collapses, but is not unconscious.
  2. They can still crawl and perform restricted acts, emulating the "downed" state seen in video game shooters.
  3. Any agent in this state must roll on a trauma table, risking persistent effects like trauma or crippling injuries.

A Ready-to-Play Adventure

A publicly available Quickstart Guide is promised in the near future. It includes a ready-to-play starting adventure called Ashes of Murray Hill. In this mission, players spearhead the search for a lost doctor squad and work to stop an assault by the notorious Rikers gang, who have taken over that NYC neighborhood. Further information and the complete product lineup will be detailed near the campaign launch.
