The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.

Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.

Audiences can look forward to learning which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
