The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential game designer lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, his family, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
