Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
