Former Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
