Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
